DAPHNE Rose enjoyed tea with the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Coun Jack Bury in the mayor's parlour.

Mrs Rose joined Councillor Jack Bury, Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, in his parlour for afternoon tea and a conducted tour of the Town Hall.
The civic tea had been part of a recent charity auction to raise money for the Hoddlesden Millennium Green Project and Mrs Rose's daughter, Mary Beresford, had bought the treat for her mum as an extra birthday present.
Mrs Rose, 77, of Brownlow Terrace, Pleasington, took time out from her own charity work as a collector for kidney research and asthma groups for the teatime treat.
