I WOULD like to reply to MEP Chris Davies (Letters, Aug 22) on European "goals."
I went to France in 1940 as a boy of 19, I returned as a man of 20 via Dunkirk. I also fought from Normandy to Hamburg.
What for, Mr Davies? To defeat the Germans, not to be taken into Europe by the useless people who call themselves politicians.
Anyone who thinks that the Europeans, apart from the Dutch, are any friends of ours are wrong. I have no wish to be dominated by Germany, aided and abetted by France.
MR J EAVES, Heys Close, Blackburn.
