A PRESTWICH taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint when he was asked to take three men to Salford.
The 24-year-old cabbie picked up the men from the George Hotel in Bury New Road, Whitefield, shortly after midnight on Saturday (Aug 19).
He drove to Pyramid Court in Higher Broughton. One of the passengers produced a knife and ordered the driver to hand over the money. He was then struck about the face before the thieves fled on foot. The taxi driver suffered slight bruising to his face.
The thieves are described as white males, approximately 6ft tall, slim and all with short hair.
Salford CID is investigating the robbery and detectives can be contacted on 0161 872 5050 if anyone has any information about the incident.
