BLACKBURN Rovers new boy Kaba Diawara is set to start on the bench against Norwich City tomorrow.

But Ewood chief Graeme Souness is hoping the 24-year-old striker can provide the missing fire-power necessary to lead his side to promotion once he has settled in.

"I hope he gets his goals because I think our need for extra fire-power was evident on Tuesday night," said Souness.

"If we had taken one of our chances in the first half it would have been a totally different game.

"But if you look at the person I brought in over the summer to solve that problem he hasn't played yet.

"And now we've also signed Kaba so I'm hoping between him, Craig Hignett and the rest we can start taking our chances because goals are very important in games."

Lee Carsley is also back in the reckoning after completing his three match ban.

Rovers from: Kelly, Curtis, Bjornebye, Dailly, Short, McAteer, Flitcroft, Dunn, Duff, Jansen, Blake, Diawara, Carsley, Johnson, Harkness, Broomes, Taylor, Gillespie, Ostenstad, Filan.

Norwich boss Bryan Hamilton has several injury problems with Paul Dalglish (hernia), Steen Nedergaard (foot), Cederic Anselin and Jean-Yves de Blasiis (both knee) all missing.

They will choose from: Marshall (A), Sutch, Kenton, Fleming, Derveld, Llewellyn, Marshall (L), Mulryne, Russell, Whitley, De Waard, Roberts, Giallanza, McGovern, Forbes, McVeigh, Green, Jackson.
