SQUIRES Gate FC will make their way into teh history books on Saturday when they play in the FA Cup for the first time in the club's history.
And to mark the occasion competiton sponsors AXA will bringing the famous old trophy to the club making sure that at least one Blackpool team will get its hand on the FA Cup this season.
The club, based in Marton was founded in 1948 and has since been ineligible to play in the cup due to the standard of their ground. But, due to sveeral improvements to teh whole club, Squires Gate will finally get the chance to join footballing legends by playing in the competition.
They will play in the extra preliminary round of the cup on Saturday.
And they only have to win their way through a further preliminary round, four qualifying rounds, six proper rounds and a semi-final before making that trip to Wembley in May!
