A GOVERNMENT minister moved to reassure postmasters as he addressed a special meeting at Morecambe Town Hall.
Competition Minister Alan Johnson insisted that the Government remains committed to the keeping rural post offices running.
He urged the post office to seize the opportunity to provide banking services for the 15 per cent of the UK population who don't have a bank account.
