A LOCAL college's pioneering computing in the community programme has proved a major success.
Over 60 participants have taken part in the programme, run by Lancaster and Morecambe College, since it began in May.
Funded by the city's Single Regeneration Budget, the courses are free to students living within the area.
Venues have included the Ridge Pub, Skerton Community Centre, Ryelands House, Ryelands Resource Centre and Marsh Age Link.
College community liaison officer Mel Bakey said: "The courses were designed for people with no experience whatsoever of computers and we are now planning further short introductory courses and are looking for new participants to join the programme."
Further information is available from the college on 66215.
