THE big St Helens Combination kick-off could be severely curtailed this Saturday.

For by last Saturday a total of 41 clubs had still not submitted evidence of their insurance cover to league secretary David Watkins.

And no insurance means no play.

And David Watkins is determined to resolve this blatant disregard of the rules. He reminds clubs that if they are refused permission to kick-off they can or will be fined as a rule for not fulfilling this fixture.

Mid-week matches are due to begin on Tuesday, August 29.

Meanwhile, the two remaining management posts were filled when Bernard Teebay was appointed Vice-Chairman and referee's appointment secretary John Goodwin will also take on the duties of Assistant Secretary. Places are still available as club committee members and independent management members - anyone interested, please contact Secretary David Watkins on 01744 756806.

Clubs having been informed already, are reminded that all Saturday results must be rung in by 6pm, Tuesday results by 9pm.
