WITH so much being said about the NHS, I wonder how many other people are in the same situation as me.
In March I was referred to a consultant at Bury General Hospital and an appointment arrived for the beginning of August. Three days before my appointment a letter arrived cancelling it and a new date was given for a day when I was unfortunately away on holiday.
I rang to explain my situation but was told that they could not rearrange it over the phone as "it is not the consultant's way". A new appointment arrived, after a week, for the end of October. It looks to me like I have been put at the end of the waiting list because I could not meet their new appointment, after they had originally cancelled.
This is totally unfair as it will now be eight months before I see the consultant after my referral. As I am already on the waiting list for another operation with another consultant it is quite possible that I may not be able to meet the next appointment date either.
