THE Introduction to Sources for Local History course is starting up again from the middle of September and aims to give people an idea of the various documentary evidence available for studying local history in St Helens.
The course uses original 18th and 19th century documents, maps and various archives to gain an insight into the town's history and no previous knowledge of the subject is necessary.
The course is 12 weeks long and classes will be held at the St Helens Local History and Archives department at Central Library every Thursday from 6.30 to 8.30pm.
Enrolment is on the first session on Thursday, September 21, between 6.45 and 8.30pm and for further details (including fees) contact tutor Fay Appleby on 755813.
