NORWICH City boss Bryan Hamilton believed his team were the victims of a poor refereeing decision at Ewood on Saturday.

The Former Northern Ireland chief was desperately disappointed at Rovers' 24th minute penalty award.

And he believes the decision changed the whole face of the game.

"The first goal in a game is always important and I thought the referee made a big mistake," said Hamilton.

"I know you can't see every angle but he had his assistant who was ideally placed and he didn't use him.

"Officials are supposed to work in tandem and the referee's assistant knew it wasn't a penalty kick.

"So I thought the decision was very harsh -- it was a huge decision which changed the game.

"Before that I felt we had taken the sting out of Blackburn's game but that gave them a lift and put us on the back foot.

"I know we are all human and we make mistakes but I thought there was some strange decisions.

"I'm not complaining, though, because I thought it was a really good game.

"Blackburn are a good side, they are strong, competitive and they've got good players in key positions.

"But I thought we more than measured up.

"In the first half I thought we gave them a problem in the formation we were playing and never allowed them to take control.

"Then after they went 2-0 up we had to change things around a bit.

"But I thought we deserved a little bit more from the game than we actually got."
