GREEN fingered grandad Harry Round thinks his bumper crop of giant cucumbers is "just grand."
The proud 64-year-old of Anchor Grove, Darwen, has been nurturing the vegetables since April and one of them has grown to weigh a staggering 5.75Ibs.
Retired Mr Round, who has five daughters, a son and 14 grandchildren, is delighted his tender loving care has paid off. "They are just grand. I've had lots of comments about them. The neighbours say they've never seen cucumbers as big," he said.
"I've been growing veg in back garden as a hobby for a few years but this is my best season yet. I'm really pleased."
