A TEENAGER who suffered serious injuries when she was in collision with a car continued to be in a stable condition in the intensive care unit at Burnley General Hospital today.
Louise Mullarkey, 16, of Kirkstall Drive, Barnoldswick, suffered a fractured skull, chest and internal injuries in the accident on an unlit stretch of Kelbrook Road, Kelbrook, near Barnoldswick, at 10.40pm on Monday.
She was in collision with a Saab 9000 car as she walked in the carriageway.
Louise has been staying at a friend's house recently. Her mum Lisette, of Cobden Street, Barnoldswick, has spent most of the time since the accident at her daughter's hospital bedside.
"I've not had any sleep since it happened," she said. "I don't know what happened. I really don't want to say anything."
Louise's condition was today described as comfortable.
