A PARABLE from the Bible inspired parishioners to raise more than £3,300 for their church and Macmillan nurses.
The biblical story of not wasting talents was used to inspire churchghoers at St Peter's in Salesbury to raise the cash.
Just under 200 parisioners started off with £5 each and aimed to raise as much money as possible which they used to start fund-raising projects . People grew herbs, made pickles, organised coffee mornings, baked and knitted.
The money will be shared between the Macmillan Nurses and St Peter's Sunday School.
