A CAR park attendant was injured when a Vauxhall Corsa was driven at him at the Pioneer supermarket, Burnley.
The 23-year-old man, who has not been named by the police, was thrown on to the bonnet as he tried to stop the vehicle leaving.
The car then accelerated throwing the victim to the floor.
The attendant suffered injuries including a broken hand.
Police are treating the incident as a wounding and are appealing for information about the white five-door Corsa and its driver who is described as white, aged about 23, of proportionate build and with short mousey coloured hair.
The incident happened at 3.40pm on Wednesday but was only reported to the police yesterday.
Det Sgt Dave Hodson said: "The attendant spoke to the driver of the vehicle which was parked illegally.
"As it set off towards the exit the attendant stood in front of it to prevent it going any further.
"The driver of the vehicle drove at him causing him to fall on to the bonnet. He then turned the vehicle and accelerated causing him to roll off and fall to the floor."
The area was busy at the time and anyone who can help police inquiries is asked to ring Burnley CID on 01282 425001 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
