A WOMAN was threatened with a meat cleaver during an armed robbery at an off licence in Haslingden.
The shop assistant was working at the Drinks Cabin in Manchester Road when a man entered at about 9.45pm yesterday and threatened her, demanding money.
The robber snatched an amount of cash from the till and ran off.
The woman has been left badly shaken by the ordeal but not physically hurt.
The shop, which also has branches in Accrington, Rawtenstall and Rishton, sells alcohol, sweets and cigarettes.
The offender is described as white, between 18 and 21-years-old and about 5ft 8ins tall. He is slim and was wearing a dark, padded jacket with a tartan scarf partially covering his face.
Police are appealing for information about the incident and anyone who can help with their inquiries is asked to ring Burnley CID 01282 425001.
