WESTLEIGH St Paul's CE Primary School is moving forward following a bad report three years ago.
The school, which now has a new computer suite, has been praised by the education watchdog Ofsted following a second inspection in June.
Inspectors at the 206-pupil school noticed a trend of gradual improvement reinforced by strong teaching.
They now consider St Paul's to be an improving school, and the headteacher, Paul Melville is delighted.
He said: "The report is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the staff and governors."
It praised good teamwork, the quality of teaching, its special needs provision and its promotion of strong Christian values.
The school was given a further boost with the announcment of impressive SATS results which were not available at the time of inspection.
These show further improvement with 72% of Year 6 pupils reaching Level 4 in maths and 84% in both English and science.
Mr Melville said: "The pupils really enjoy life here and the SATS results reflect this. Considering that our target for Level 4 attainment was 65% these results are especially satisfying and the children should be proud of their performance.
"With the new school year upon us and a new computer suite having been built in the holidays in partnership with the Leigh Education Action Zone, there's a real sense that the school is moving forward.
"During the year we'll be encouraging greater parental involvement and improving our monitoring and evaluation methods."
