Parr Hare & Hounds 16
West Sutton Dragons 22 HOUNDS showed the benefit of a tough pre-season training regime and a vigorous summer recruitment drive by putting up a highly creditable performance in this friendly against a team from two divisions higher in the North West Counties League.
Although both sides were lacking players likely to feature in this weekend's league kick-off, this was nevertheless a useful exercise played in competitive spirit throughout.
Hounds' tries came from hooker Paul Martin, stand-off Kevin Parylo and full-back Neil Briers, with Parylo adding two goals. Also in good form for the home side were stalwart props Mark Houghton and Karl Grounds and pack colleagues, Mick Burke, Stu Graham and Chris Bennett who more than held their own against the Dragons' big six.
HOUNDS would like to thank Mark Pendlebury for kindly offering his services as referee.
