POLICE are continuing their investigation into a mystery illness which struck staff at a Leigh store.
CID officers have sent blood samples from two workers at the Wilkinson shop, on Silk Street, to a toxicologist who will reveal whether any foul play was involved.
At first it was reported that 10 members of staff at the store had suffered from a stomach upset early last week. It was confirmed this week that just two people had to see their GP.
Chief Insp Alex Woolley, of Leigh police station, said: "Blood samples have been taken from two members of staff at Wilkinson and have been sent to a toxicologist in Yorkshire. We will have the results in five to seven days."
A spokesman for the store said he could not comment until the investigation had been concluded.
