THE St Helens Combination sharpshooters have certainly not forgotten where the goals are after their summer recession. A grand total of 98 goals went in on Saturday.
In the Star Premier Division, Penlake led the way with a 10-3 home slamming of Sidac Social, Kevin McNabb and Mark Carrigg hitting hat-tricks and two each from keeper cum centre forward John Sinnot and Michael Baker. Champions Carr Mill had to travel to Billinge because of local ground problems and were made to fight for their 1-1 deadlock, Andy Rowe equalising an Ian Partington early goal for Carr Mill.
Insurance cover notes from clubs are still late in being shown to David Watkins and the deadline will be this Friday evening, failing that, the offending clubs will not play this week-end.
Chairman Eric Bond asks that all club secretaries will correct the telephone number for Mr P Smith - Rifle FC in the handbook. The correct number is 01744 637589. RESULTS
