YOUNGSTERS got to grips with some essential footballing skills when they attended a soccer school.

Former league player Andy Fairman was on hand at the school to teach the youngsters the arts of dribbling passing trapping and shooting.

Children from Preston and Leyland turned up at the school at Worden High School on Westfield Drive, Leyland, which was held by the ex-Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool footballer.

The young footballing enthusiasts were taught various skills, and took part in a selection of competitions to test how much they had learned at the end of the short course.

Hopefully, they will be trying out their new-found skills and putting them into practice in their own school teams.
