I FEEL I must write in to complain about the litter and rubbish thrown down on our streets these days.
As I walk past St Chad's church and the school gates I have to step over beer cans, litter etc. It's disgusting.
We never see a road sweeper these days. What we pay our rates for I don't know. I suppose rates will go up again in 2001. Lancaster City Council should hang their heads in shame.
I grew up in Lancaster and was very proud of our city. Not any more. Bring a bit of pride back before it is too late.
I also noticed how Scale Hall has gone dirty. I lived on Rossall Road for 20 years and proud of it. The people, like the city, have no pride in themselves.
What was once a proud country has now gone. Bring it back before it is too late. I feel myself it is too late.
