Netherfield 204-6 Blackpool 132 all out IN a one-sided Slater Cup semi-final on Sunday, Netherfield comfortably defeated Blackpool by 72 runs, writes Gerry Wolstenholme.
Netherfield's 204-6 from their 40 overs was always too many for a Blackpool side who lost wickets steadily to end at 132 all out in the 38th over.
The main impetus of the Netherfield innings came from a second wicket partnership of 90 runs in 17 overs from Tommy Prime, 58, and cultured professional Jeff Vaughan, 61.
Simon Dutton, 15 and Jim Moyes, 24, kept the momentum going to take Netherfield to their final total of 204-6.
For Blackpool's Pickles, 34, following a steady 2-37 spell with the ball, Lomas, 22, and Lamb 36, all got a start but they all fell as the varied Netherfield attack took a grip on the game.
Opening bowler Scott Clement, 3-12, returned at the end to mop up the final wickets and Blackpool were left 132 all out and defeated by 72 runs.
