YET another late goal left Blackpool grateful for a point on Saturday (August 26) after a less than convincing display.
This time it was an 83rd minute equalizer and they had to thank the never-say-die spirit of Brett Ormerod for the goal.
Ormerod, who ran himself daft all game, chased what looked like a lost cause into the corner before whipping over a superb cross.
Clarkson (not Coid as stated in the national press) ghosted through the Orient defence to head the ball firmly past the Orient keeper.
Pool had first fallen behind in the 11th minute after Caig failed to collect a cross which was then headed back into the area and put in by Garcia.
A deflected free-kick from Simpson brought the scores level and the tireless Ormerod had a part to play in it. He ran on to a long kick from Caig and was clean through on goal before being clinically brought down by an Orient defender, not for the only time in the match.
Pool again feel behind just before half-time to a soft goal following a goal mouth scramble which saw Garcia force the ball past a flat footed Caig and Seasiders fans were left with anxious second half before the equaliser came. In truth Orient will wonder how they left Bloomfield Road without three points after outplaying Pool for much of the game with some enterprising and skilful football.
But Steve McMahon is clearly determind to see Blackpool play neat passing football with the players spending hours in training on close control and passing. It seems they have yet to attain the confidence to put it fully into practice doing in a match situation when the pressure is on but they cannot be blamed for trying.
In fact they probably tried to overdo the passing at times, sometimes trying to pay the ball out defence when maybe a big hoof would have done.
But the players confidence in their ability can only improve in time and if they show the determination exemplified by Brett Ormerod on Saturday they should surely be challenging for promotion at the end of the season.
