STUDENTS from King Edward VII and Queen Mary School in Lytham are currently in the throes of a four-day cycling marathon to raise money for charity.
Fifteen students are riding from Land's End to John O' Groats to raise money for Rock FM's Help A Local Child charity.
Principal Julian Wilde said the cyclists set off from Land's End on Tuesday morning (August 29) at dawn, made their way up through the West Country, Bristol and Birmingham, and were due to reach Preston late last night (August 30).
Student Andrew Hookham, 17, said he was enjoying the challenge. He added: "We are riding in teams of three in a relay system and are sleeping in the back-up van throughout the 1,000 mile journey -- it's a great experience for us all."
Many of the group completed a coast-to-coast ride from Lytham to Bridlington in March and raised £2,000. The cyclists in the latest ride are expected to ride into John O' Groats at around midnight tomorrow (September 1).
