A KIND-HEARTED local businessman has fitted £10,000 worth of new windows at a local children's holiday camp in honour of his late father.
Bob Tyers, owner of Plas-Tech on the White Cross, was only too happy to help out at Leeds Children's Holiday Camp in Silverdale as his father, Jack, had been on holiday there as a child. In fact, it was the only holiday his father had as a child and the site holds an affectionate place in the family's history.
The camp, which provides holidays for underprivileged children, badly needed new windows and Bob said: "I was happy to help. I couldn't see them close down."
