I READ your report (LET, August 31) about the road improvements in Audley, Blackburn, with some surprise and dismay.
I know they are a pain; but a little inconvenience must be endured if we are to enjoy the benefits that the new road layout will bring.
The locals were consulted by Councillor Ashley Whalley. They participated in the decision-making process.
Surely, Coun Whalley must be commended for this. Instead, he seems to take sole blame for the traffic jams which result from decisions made by local residents, Coun Whalley, the Labour group and a full meeting of the Council.
Shame upon the ungrateful residents of Audley!
