A REWARD is on offer for information about five Asian youths who attacked a 23-year-old man riding his bike in Peart Street/Colne Road, Burnley.
He was approached by one of the men who shouted: "I'm the hardest Paki in Burnley" and then attacked from behind by two members of the group.
One of them tried to hit him over the head with a bottle and when he put up an arm to defend himself suffered a deep gash to the arm as the bottle smashed.
The cyclist managed to run to a nearby address and ring for an amulance. He was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery. One of the attackers is 20, 5ft 9/10ins, very stocky, with dark short back and sides hair spiky on the top. He was wearing a plain white T shirt and dark jeans.
Another is 20, 6ft, stocky, short dark hair and wearing a very dark jacket with a quarter zip on the front and tied at the waist. There is no description of the other three.
The incident happened about 10.45pm on Thursday, August 24 and anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on freephone 0800 555111.
