SOME of Pendle's mill heritage will be on display later this month during two special open days.
The impressive 19th century mill at Higherford will open its doors for visitors to take an extended tour.
The mill featured in last years "Higherford Sights" excursion and was such an overwhelming success that the Heritage Trust for the North West has decided to open previously unseen areas.
Visitors this year will be able to see the room where the tackler would have worked and also the area behind the wheel pit.
There will also be an exhibition featuring an original loom inside the mill and display boards detailing important developments which took place during the operation of the mill.
Free tours will take place at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm on both September 16 and 17 and bookings can be made on 01282 661704.
Visitors are asked to meet at the Pendle Heritage Centre.
