MORE than 150 businesswomen heard how to improve their safety at work at the launch of a major new organisation in East Lancashire.
Diana Lamplugh OBE -- founder of the Suzie Lamplugh Trust -- was guest speaker at the launch of Unique, set up under the umbrella of the Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire to deal with women's issues.
She told the audience at the Stirk House about the importance of making sure women are safe at work both from physical attacks and sexual or verbal abuse.
The next Unique event will be at the Gibbon Bridge on October 5. Further details are available from the Chamber on 01254 388400.
"The aim of Unique is to raise the profile of women's business and career issues and help them develop their potential," said Kathryn Czaja, commercial director of the chamber.
