HEALTH food stores want to help unwanted Chinese children have healthier lives by supplying orphanages with equipment for the disabled and funding foster mother carers.
Holland and Barrett stores in Accrington and Blackburn are selling red balloon lapel badges to raise money for a £30,000 appeal to set up Good Rock Foundation charity's new early support centre.
Good Rock Foundation director Jacqui Shurr said: "The mortality rate for infants under the age of one is over 90 per cent. Our early support units will provide the essential care abaondoned babies need to not only survive but also go on to have a happy, healthy childhood."
