Hull Dockers 14 BROOK produced an excellent performance in their opening home fixture of the campaign.
An early penalty from full-back Paul Toole gave Brook a lead before a fine individual effort from centre Ian Callaghan brought the first try of the game.
On the half hour scrum-half Jason Mitchell held off three defenders to score in the corner and six minutes later a similar effort produced a try for Neil Babbs in the opposite corner.
Mitchell's try was superbly converted from the touchline by Paul Toole.
A Fletcher penalty reduced the arrears for the Dockers before half-time.
Brook increased the lead early in the second half when Andy Shaw left the defenders grasping at thin air as he scored direct from the scrum 35 yards out.
Hooker Graham Mallinson and scrum-half Steve Sellars threatened a revival from the Dockers with close range tries both converted by Mike Fletcher. Andy Shaw sealed the victory as he burst over the try line to score on 65 minutes with Ian Callaghan adding his second conversion of the afternoon.
Andy Shaw was man of the match with fine performances also from hooker Rickie Davies, Dave Ryan and Colin Smith.
Brook's second team ran out of steam during the second half of their opening game of the new season.
Ste Turner scored Brooks try following a break from centre Ste Woods. Craig Lyon converted as the half-time remained at 10 points to 6 for the home side.
Best for Brook was Phil Smith with Peter Beckett and youngster Craig Lyon.
