A TOWN centre is set to explode into a riot of family fun on Sunday when a mela Asian festival hits the streets.
Hyndburn mela 2000 takes place in Accrington and Union Street will be closed to traffic.
A variety of stalls, including Asian music, children's clothing and a tandoori barbecue will be along Broadway and the town centre will throb to the drum sounds of Manjeet and A-Vibe.
Street entertainers 'What a Palava' and 'Mr and Mrs Sideways' will be there as well as unicyclist Tim Dixon.
Visitors to the town hall will be able to try variety of crafts including printing and glass painting.
They can get hair and beauty tips, have their nails painted and bejewelled and have their bodies decorated with Henna paint.
There will be a women's fashion show in the afternoon.
Evening entertainment in the town hall includes a puppet show, comedy, dancing and music from top bhangra band Sahara. It will cost £2 per ticket.
Mela cricket finals take place at Bullough Park, Accrington, from 1pm followed by a weight lifting contest and kabbadi.
Daytime events are free and craft participants can take home their work.
