FURTHER to another attempt to use a zebra crossing without getting myself killed, I feel I have to write to you and ask if the law has been changed since I passed my driving test?
It seems that our seafront crossings are becoming more dangerous each day with most drivers taking no notice of the fact that you are half way across when they zoom across in front or behind you.
I use the crossings approximately six times a day and I see the total disregard that drivers have for our safety.
Zebra crossings should be the best type because it is one of the few times in this 'World gone mad' where strangers can actually be polite to one another and show a kindness, but unfortunately such ideas belong to a bygone age and the only way to protect pedestrians is to make the drivers stop with a pelican crossing because zebras are becoming 'accidents waiting to happen'.
