MICHAEL Jack, MP for South Fylde, landed at Blackpool airport in August to mark the official opening of the RAF Association Wings Appeal across the Fylde Coast. The South Fylde branch of the appeal will be taking part in a national collection week to help war veterans.
Eric Barrowclough, secretary of the branch, said this year is especially important as it is the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. He said: "The appeal will be having collections at various supermarkets on the Fylde coast as well as having people collecting in the streets from Monday (September 11) through to Sunday. Every penny collected will go towards helping British ex-servicemen and women."
