FORMER Leigh Miners winger Richard Henare has been banned from the game for 12 months and fined £2,000 after being tested positive for cannabis earlier this year.
At a hearing with the Rugby Football League Executive Board on July 27 Henare, who joined Swinton Lions after leaving Twist Lane, admitted the offence and, in an attempt to assist with his rehabilitation, the Board agreed to suspend his ban from the game for 12 months subject to certain conditions.
New Zealander Henare agreed to subject himself to a random testing programme as well as maintaining regular contact with the Rugby Football League regarding his location.
At a further hearing by the Executive Board in Leeds on Monday it was revealed that he had breached the terms of his agreement as well as failing to pay his fine.
