THE Leigh and District Youth League kick off its new season last weekend.
In the Under 16s section Dynamo Three Crowns hammered newcomers Hindley Juniors 11-1. The highlight of the game was a hat-trick from Peters with other goals coming from Mullarkey (2), McColl (2), Keogh, Drake, Barber and Hibberd.
Pennington Athletic slugged it out all the way with Winton Wanderers before emerging 5-3 winners. Pennington were 4-0 up at the break with two apiece from Manning and Martin but Wanderers hit back until Dyson's goal settled it.
First Lowton drew 2-2 with Bedford Rangers. Lowton's goals came from Timmins and Litherland with Smith netting twice for the visitors. Culcheth Athletic had a 3-0 win over Pennington Hawks.
In the Under 15s section Dynamo Three Crowns beat W.J.Wildcats 10-2 while W.J.Wanderers and Bedford Rangers fought out a 4-4 draw. Packwood, Waterworth, Campbell and Hayes scored for Bedford.
Hindley Junior Wanderers and Dynamo Three Crowns finished at 4-4, Taylor (2), Kenny and Cooper on target for Dynamo.
Hindsford Juniors were beaten 6-3 by Standish Juniors in the Under 13s second, Smith (2) and Gorton scoring for Hindsford, while Dynamo and Horwich St Mary's were level at 4-4 in their Under 12s game.
