BURY-Border Flooring retained their overall standing of second place in the Northern Fours League at Sheffield last Sunday by taking second place in their fixture.
Tameside finished first with 59 points, Bury scored 38, Sheffield 33, and Astley & Tyldesley 31.
League leaders Heckmondwyke easily won their match to leave themselves top of the heap, with Bury second and Tameside third, well ahead of the other four sides.
Bury scorers: Neil Howarth 13, Robert Pearce 10 (from 3 rides), Fred Rothwell 8, Steve Mann 6, Ben Scranage 1 (from 1 ride).
In the Junior League, Robert Pearce was again unbeaten in the Under 16 Section with 16 points. Ben Scranage and Scott Jarman each scored 13 and Tom Doyle added 8.
In the combination division, Steve Mann scored 10 and Martin Degnan 7 as Bury took fourth place overalll out of seven teams on the day.
It's individual action at Stockport on Sunday with the Northern Alliance Veterans competition at 2pm and the Seniors at 3.30pm and Bury will be well represented in both events.
