AN Astley beauty salon is toasting the Macmillan Nurses' World's Largest Coffee Morning - in champagne.
The owner of Astley Beauty Clinic, Kathryn Haskell, is unable to join in the mammoth fund raising event - so she has organised her own two days early.
She will use the launch of two new beauty treatments at her Coldalhurst Lane salon to raise cash for the cause, and for the new Shadh Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land.
Animal lover Kathryn, who celebrated the salon's first anniversary this month, said money raised would be split between the two good causes.
She said: "Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer and the nurses do a great job .
"While I was flying back from holiday I read an article about a former air hostess, Lucy Fensom, who had gone out to the Holy Land to save donkeys. A picture of one with its ears cut off broke my heart and I knew I had to do something."
The money raising champagne launch will take place on Wednesday, September 27.
