AN action planning event to prepare for the regeneration of a part of Blackburn is to be held this month.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is working closely with residents of Whitebirk to work on a strategy which will see the area develop over the next 10 years.
During the last year, the Blackburn East Area Community Help BEACH Partnership and Groundwork have organised a series of consultation events and surveys to allow local people to air their views on the future of the area.
And on Saturday, September 19 at Accrington Road Community Centre, there will be another meeting. Included in the regeneration strategy are improved facilities for young people, a scheme to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and projects to improve the local environment.
The meeting is open to everyone and a free buffet lunch will be provided.
