FOR the Blackpool Council planning officer to admit that a notice has been served on the house at the corner of Peter Street and Buchanan Street as long ago as last September and nothing has been done is a disgrace.
What is the point of issuing orders if they can be ignored and the council does not bother to follow them up? No wonder the town has gone to the dogs. Your recently quoted incidents that also showed a lack of control were a group of gypsies forcing heather on passers-by near the Tower, and the appearance of a caravan and tent on the sand dunes nearly opposite Pontins. If not checked this could offer free overnight facilities to anyone who is looking for a camp site. It must have been spotted by passing officials and police. Or is this land for hire?
