KEEN conservationists can join a pond clearance project at Philips Park, Whitefield this weekend.
Working with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, which is based at the park's Barn Countryside Centre, local people can help tidy up the watery resting places of wildlife by clearing away overgrown vegetation.
Volunteer sessions will be held in the park on Sunday, September 23 and again on Tuesday, September 26.
If you are interested meet BTCV members at the Prestwich Metrolink station at 10.15am or at the centre at 10.30am.
Other practical days devoted to caring for the environment are held at the park on the first and second Wednesday afternoon of each month.
For more information contact BTCV on 0161 796 6404 or the Wildlife Trust on 01204 361847.
