A TROUPE of village dancers tapped into a world record breaking chorus line - and raised almost £200 for charity.
The fun loving Glazebury Tappers joined Wayne Sleep and thousands of friends, and the stars of Coronation Street, at Dance Day 2000 at Manchester's G Mex Centre.
Trained by choreographer Marjorie Green the party of 35, aged from five to over 50, were sponsored by local long haulage company T and T International.
She said: "It was hard work learning the set steps choreographed by Wayne Sleep, which lasted just over two minutes, but it was a great day."
Money raised will go to three children's charities.
"All the members of the group were delighted to receive medals and certificates, and we'd like to thank everyone who helped with sponsorship especially T and T.
Anyone who wants to join the happy, keep-fit band of tappers is invited to free group sessions on Thursday evenings in T and T's function room, children from 7-8pm and adults 8-9pm.
Marjorie, a choreographer with St Joseph's Players for 32 years, said: "It doesn't matter if people have never danced before. They soon will."
