THOUGH he speaks up for the area, it is obvious that Leslie Burrows (Letters November 17) is unaware that the Mill Hill ward in Blackburn has been identified as one of the 47 worst problem areas in the country and, as a consequence, is to receive extra government aid from the Youth Inclusion Programme to tackle the dilemma.
The only other area nominated in Blackburn is the Whitebirk ward.
If he doubts this, Mr Burrows can take it up with his councillor, Malcolm Doherty, the Labour leader of the council which applied for this grant aid.
