THE funds of the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Macmillan cancer relief group have frothed up to more than £165,200 partly as a result of the world's biggest coffee morning.
The event locally raised £8,062 from 69 individual events, two of which raised more than £500 each.
Other recent donations to the appeal include £1,300 from a race night run by Bacup and Rossendale Soroptimists and the Macmillan Christmas fair at Hoghton Tower which brought in a further £6,500. The appeal total now stands at £165,271. More is needed and volunteers are wanted to man in-store collections at Morrisons, Nelson, from December 4-9. Anyone interested is asked to contact Mavis Butler on 01282 771591 or Jackie Roberts at the appeal office on 01282 475006.
Special Christmas collection boxes are available for shops, clubs or reception desks by ringing the above numbers.
