REGARDING the former female employee who took Blackburn Council to a tribunal, alleging racial and sexual discrimination (LET, November 17), if someone at the authority had the power to offer our money, either as a softener or compensation, why are we not told how much money is being paid?
Surely, what I read in your report cannot be right in any way -- "In a statement, Blackburn with Darwen Council executive director for corporate resources Harry Catterall, said: 'The applicant has withdrawn her claim and the case has been dismissed. Both parties agreed there would be no further public statement on the matter.' The woman refused to comment."
That's not good enough. We want and are entitled to know what is going on.
How much has this fiasco cost? Never mind secret deals.
