WORKING nine to five has never been better for a young Rossendale woman who is enjoying the best of both worlds, getting nationally recognised qualifications and work experience and being paid for it.
Andrea Guest, 21, is taking part in ELTEC's modern apprenticeship programme and is in the final stages of completing a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship in office administration.
The former Fearns High School, Rawtenstall, pupil is working at Rossendale-based New Church Housing Services, which trades as Eldercare and provides emergency response services for the elderly or those at risk.
"I did go to college for a short while but it wasn't for me and I decided to look into other options," said Andrea. The work-based training route seemed like the perfect opportunity and enables me to earn some solid qualifications. " Andrea is well on her way to gaining a NVQ level 2 in office administration.
