TWO Aussies are on their way to join the Centurions - and they're paying for the privilege!
The pair have got round the overseas import rule by travelling on Irish and British passports and will not count on Leigh's quota.
Jamie Gass, a 25-year-old front or second rower, is due this weekend with utility back Michael Watts, 23, scheduled to arrive a week later.
Both have first grade experience with Illawarra Steelers while Gass has also figured with Norths Sydney and Wests and Watts with St George.
Leigh's head coach Paul Terzis knows both players well having groomed them at Illawarra. They have also worked with Ian Millward and in their early days with John Dorahy.
"The two lads are backing their own ability by paying their own air fares and finding their own employment in the town. All they wanted was a chance to prove themselves and I'm happy for them to do that," says Terzis.
"There are no contracts involved. The players will be on match terms only.
"I think they are players who will add strength to our already considerable squad," he added. By Mike Hulme
