BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness today ruled out a move for Anderlecht winger Bart Goor.
Souness has admitted Rovers have had the Belgian international watched on a number of occasions.
But reports suggesting the club are ready to launch a £4 million bid are well wide of the mark.
"Bart Goor is a man we have had watched and he's a good player," said Souness.
"But we won't be making a bid, especially not at that money.
"People have got to remember we are a First Division club."
The story, which appeared in a Sunday tabloid, also suggested Rovers' interest in Goor put the future of Damien Duff in doubt.
However, Souness today insisted the Irish wing-wizard is a big part of his long-term plans at Ewood.
And that is sure to be greeted positively by the fans, who voted him the club's player of the year last season.
"Damien Duff is a left-sided player and they are very hard to find in this day and age," said Souness.
"So he's a very important member of our squad."
