SURROUNDED by friends and family, birthday girl Ethel Wade celebrated 100 glorious years in style at the Whitehall Country Club, in Darwen.
The grandmother and great-grandmother joined in the fun at her birthday party on November 9, making a speech to thank guests for donating £260 to the Diabetic Association.
Mrs Wade, who lives with her son, Pewter Wade, in Avallon Way, Darwen, has two sons, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Peter said: "She had a great time at the party and asked for donations to the Diabetic Association rather than presents, as her nephew has diabetes.
"She still likes her embroidery and enjoys a day out in Cleveleys in the car."
